Crémant de Loire Réserve

Crémant de Loire Réserve AOC

Type of wine
Fine French dry white sparkling wine, light and elegant.
Chenin Blanc 83%, Chardonnay 10%, Cabernet Franc 7%.

Subsoil type
The vines cultivated on the chalky "tuffeau" based soil produce wines with a natural tendency to sparkle and a distinctive Saumur taste. It is the soil's ability to store heat by day and diffuse it by night that is the primary factor in the wine's quality.

Vinification
Hand harvested, with small crates in the best local vineyards with low yields. Selection of first pressing for vinification and blending. Control of the choice of yeasts. Traditional slow fermentation in bottle. By regulation there must be a minimum of one year ageing. Gratien & Meyer however allows over 3 years for its Crémant de Loire.

Tasting notes
Delicate shimmering yallow colour with a fine, long-lasting mousse. Fine, elegant with a clean airy bouquet. Full of aromas of white fruits, apple and citrus fruits, typical of Chardonnay. The Chenins' body and vivacity fills the palate before revealing the fruity and floral notes of this Crémant de Loire Réserve. Ideal for the apéritif and with fish, white meat with oysters.
